Our Services
“I enjoy solving problems that limit mobility, I get to help improve people’s health and quality of life.” Jonathan Robinson
The result we are trying to achieve is specific to each patient’s needs, and to maximize our effectiveness we draw from a wide variety of treatment possibilities including:
Education:
Helping our patients understand what kinds of footwear they require, what exercises or other treatments they need to integrate into their lives to ensure they can stay as active as possible.
Orthotics:
Both custom made and off the shelf options may be used depending on the patient’s problem and specific situation. We custom fabricate on site; material choices that may include sacrificial layers (for very sensitive feet that are prone to injury i.e. diabetic feet), cushioning, stabilizing, rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible shells and reinforcing materials.
Shoe modifications range from the relatively simple to complex and can include:
- Stretching: to improve the fit of a shoe.
- Removing seams: to relax the materials without affecting the shoe.
- Bubble patches: to increase the room in the shoe.
- Sole splitting: to widen the sole of the shoe by up to 3/8″.
- Excavations: to reduce pressure on sensitive areas.
- Reinforcements: to strengthen an area and reduce premature wear.
- Flares and buttresses: to strengthen the shoe and stop the foot from distorting the shoe.
- Rocker soles: to relieve pain in the ball of the foot, aggressively offload certain areas of the foot or to improve gait for patients by aiding the heel contact or push off phase of gait.
- Lifts: to accommodate leg length differences.
Shoes:
Shoe sales are not a big part of our business, but we care about your feet! So if you come and see us we probably won’t sell you shoes. The shoes we do sell are primarily for specialty cases, like at-risk feet or when shoes need to be modified to accommodate a patient’s particular needs. If required we cast and order shoes to be custom built. However, we are experts at educating you and ensuring that you know the right type of footwear for your specific situation and lifestyle needs (work and play). We can help ensure the proper fit and correct support for your foot type. In addition, we would be happy to recommend shoe stores where we know you will be properly fitted.
Specialty needs:
A single style of orthotic won’t work for everyone or every application. As an example, we fabricate and modify orthotics for skates, ski boots and other sport specific footwear to redistribute internal stresses, improve alignment and enhance comfort, function, and even performance.
Other foot products:
- custom toe spacers
- forefoot stiffening plates
- dorsiflexion night splints
- compression stockings
Lab Services
We are not a fit for everyone, we are looking for partners. You need to be a cultural fit (see our values) and be looking for a value added lab partner, not just the lowest cost provider.
Partner: a friend who shares a common interest and participates in achieving a common goal.
Our Lab manufactures premium quality custom foot orthoses for foot health care professionals . Our focus is supporting the best clinical outcomes as a result we have a flexible approach ranging from hand craftsmanship to state of the art CAD/CAM automation technology. As a result, most additions and modifications are included in the basic price.
